Like a phoenix, what were once Taco Macs in Marietta and Woodstock are being born anew.

Because of new ownership, the eateries that were Morgan's Sports Grill will on May 30 rejoin the Taco Mac chain, which has nearly 30 locations.

Here’s what happened, according to the chain:

These two locations opened in 1998 and were run under a management agreement in which Taco Mac ran them on behalf of the property owner.

But when Taco Mac recently sold, the property owner decided not to renew the management agreement, so the eateries became Morgan’s Sports locations.

But “with Taco Mac now under new ownership and with renewed excitement around the future of the brand, the property owner was excited to return,” the company said.

The two spots that went through all this tumult were 2650 Dallas Highway in Marietta and 9020 Highway 92 in Woodstock.

If you need some Taco Mac in your life now, Cobb has Cumberland and Kennesaw locations.
