Prepare yourself: Smyrna's Fall Jonquil Festival is this weekend

This is it.

This is what we've been waiting for.

This. Is. The. Jonquil. Festival.

The crown jewel of Smyrna events, the annual celebration of the city's flower, has been entertaining Cobb County residents for more than 20 years.

And this year is no different.

Actual Factual Cobb: What's a jonquil and why is Smyrna obsessed?

Head to The Village Green on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. for more than 125 booths of artist-made crafts, a puppet show by Peter Hart, live classic rock, and activities for children.

"Artisans are from all over the southeast and feature their own hand made crafts, paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry and much more," said the city.

And don't forget the fair fare.

You wonder: "But will there be food I like?" Please.

Pizza, cotton candy, candy apples, corn dogs, hand-dipped ice cream, snow cones, polish sausage, chicken sandwiches, BBQ and more.

Children can expect to enjoy inflatable activities, sand art and a costume contest. There'll also be a Children's Halloween Costume Parade on Saturday about 9 a.m. with prizes for the best get-up in the three age groups.
