Gwinnett County Public Schools has named new principals for two of its middle and elementary schools.
The Gwinnett County Board of Education has named Brian Walker principal of Mountain Park Elementary School and Bryce Fulcher principal of Lanier Middle School.
Walker is currently the assistant principal of Craig Elementary School and will transition into his new role as current Mountain Park principal Allan Gee takes over the role of principal at Rock Springs Elementary School. Walker has been with Gwinnett County Public Schools since 2000, when he was a teacher at Minor Elementary School. He worked in that role for nine years, and became assistant principal of Woodward Mill Elementary School in 2009. In 2016, he moved to the same role at Craig.
Walker has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Auburn University and a master’s in educational leadership from Kennesaw State University. He has also completed Gwinnett County Public Schools’ Quality-Plus Leader Academy Aspiring Principal Program, graduating in 2014.
Fulcher is currently the assistant principal of Pinckneyville Middle School and will take over at Lanier Middle School after current principal Todd Hamilton retires. Fulcher started his career with Gwinnett County Public Schools in 2003, as a teacher at Norcross High School. He has also taught at Mill Creek High School and Mountain View High School. In 2011, he became an administrative intern at Pinckneyville, and moved into his current role as assistant principal the next year.
Fulcher has a bachelor’s degree in history and social science education from North Georgia College and State University and a master’s in educational administration and policy from the University of Georgia. He graduated from the Quality-Plus Leader Academy Aspiring Principal Program in 2016.
