The performing arts center in City Springs will seat more than 1,000 people. It is set to open in Sept. 2018.

City Springs isn’t quite yet finished, but one of its main attractions is looking to get its inaugural schedule in order.

The 14-acre $222 million mixed-use development in Sandy Springs will include 35,000 square feet of retail space, the city’s main offices, a park, a pool, meeting spaces, residential spaces and more.

It will also include a performing arts center, and booking for that begins on Monday. The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center is scheduled to open for performances in September 2018.

Ahead of that, the center will begin accepting holds or reservations for events scheduled for that month and beyond.

"This is an exciting milestone for the project," Sandy Springs mayor Rusty Paul said in a statement. "We are looking forward to hosting varied and high quality, first-class programming at City Springs and are eager to see the calendar develop."

In order to officially request a date for an event, promoters and other interested folks must submit their request via the rental inquiry form found on the City Springs website. In some cases, based on the event requirements, an additional application for lease may be required, the city said.

Rental fees include access to the space, utilities, basic event staffing, in-house marketing elements, and other items which may be agreed upon in the event contract, the city said.

The Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center at City Springs will feature a main stage with seating capacity of 1,100, the studio theater, main lobby, conference center, and city green. Some parking is available with 1,125 parking spaces on site, with 750 of those in the underground parking deck.

The center will also have its own catering service.

Construction on City Springs began in January 2016 and is expected to be completed summer 2018.
