A new fast casual pizza restaurant is expected to open on Atlanta’s Westside this month.

The Local Pizzaiolo (pronounced pizza-yolo) will open Jan. 23 at 1000 Marietta St., according to a press release. A grand opening event with free pizza for those who make a $2 donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank and No Kid Hungry will be held that day from 4 to 7 p.m.

Owner Giulio Adriani plans to open three more metro Atlanta locations, in Toco HillSandy Springs and Reynoldstown, by 2019.

The Montanara, a dish with a flash-fried crust, was Adriani's documented reason his green card to the United States was approved in 2011, a press release said. He was also part of the 2017 group that got the Guinness World Record for the world's longest pizza, which was more than a mile long.

Adriani will serve as the Master Pizzaiolo — Italian for the person who makes pizza — and will train the "local pizzaioli" at each location. A four-time World Pizza Making Award winner, Adriani grew up in Rome and has owned and operated several restaurants including Forcella in NYC.

The Local Pizzaiolo is a cashless restaurant.
