The event, held this year on Sunday, April 22, provides Girl Scouts who may not have had the opportunity to attend camp or learn outdoor skills the opportunity to have that experience. It’s not an overnight event — it will be held for two hours — but there will be a variety of activities providing girls with a camping crash course.

Activities will include cooking food over an open flame, identifying plants and performing wilderness first aid. Participants will also have opportunities to try  archery (as long as they are at least a Junior Girl Scout) and set up their own tent. All Girl Scouts in attendance will get to make their own s’mores.

Registration is still open and information can be found at campgwinnett.weebly.com. The event will be held in Tribble Mill Park on 2125 Tribble Mill Parkway SE in Lawrenceville.
