UPDATE: On Sept. 18, 2018, Cobb County police announced that Valerie Maynard was found and was healthy.
New details from police and court records give insight into the life of a missing Smyrna woman who was last seen more than a week ago.
Sgt. Wayne Delk, spokesman for Cobb County police, said Wednesday that 53-year-old Valerie Maynard might have been transient due to the number of personal items found in her SUV.
Police searched her white Land Rover, which only Channel 2 Action News caught on camera, that was found Sept. 5 in the Pigeon Hill parking lot on Burnt Hickory Road.
That lot services the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park.
The vehicle was found unlocked, with her cell phone and purse still inside, police said Monday when asking for the public's help to find her.
Court records show Maynard and her husband had recently gone through a divorce.
A judge made a final ruling on the divorce case on Aug. 1, records show. The divorce was first reported by Channel 2.
The judge ruled that the two young children live with their father and did allow Maynard limited visitation.

Maynard got only the Range Rover in the divorce and was ordered to pay her ex-husband $30,000 in payments, court records show.
So far, K9 units and National Park Service staff have found no trace of her.
