Mexican joint in Cobb gets re-inspected after dirty kitchen failure

Georgia has rules every food service operation is required to follow.

Update (April 6, 2018):

A Mexican eatery in Marietta passed its recent re-inspection after previously failing in part because of a dirty kitchen.

San Luis Restaurant on South Marietta Parkway scored an 86 on Monday, according to Cobb County health department records.

The restaurant was docked for several items like ham, milk, cooked shrimp, ground pork and raw chicken being held at too high a temperature.

A Mexican restaurant in Marietta failed its recent inspection in part due to a dirty kitchen, according to Cobb County health department records.

San Luis Restaurant, located at 951 South Marietta Parkway, earned a 64 on Friday. Any score below a 70 is considered failing.

A manager was not immediately available to speak to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday.

The eatery had problems with dust and “accumulations on the walls, between cervices and between equipment throughout the kitchen,” according to the inspection report.

There were also pork, eggs and milk being held above the mandated 41 degrees. Those were discarded.

The walk-in cooler and dry storage door “are in disrepair,” the report said.

The restaurant scored an 86 in January 2017 and a 76 in November 2016.

Follow-up inspections are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
