Marietta has been awarded a $519,893 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

This federal funding will support community projects that provide decent housing and maintain suitable living environments and service activities for vulnerable children and teens, according to a city statement.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds are targeted for Homeowner Rehabilitation, First-Time Home Buyers and Elderly Homeowner Emergency or Accessible Features projects.

Marietta city officials will hold free Informational Workshops on the funding, beginning in September.

The schedules will be announced at this website: MariettaGa.gov/470/public-notices-announcements.
