Atlanta news anchor Amanda Davis, 62, died Wednesday from complications after a stroke Tuesday night at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
A public funeral service is being held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cascade United Methodist Church, 3144 Cascade Road SW, Atlanta.
Davis was best known for the 26 years she spent at WAGA-TV, now a Fox affiliate. She retired from the station in 2012 after a DUI arrest, and was arrested on the same charge again in 2015. Davis was candid about her drinking problems in a three-part series that aired on CBS46 in 2016. The station hired the award-winning television journalist to be a morning anchor in January.
