The police building has been named the L. Randy Johnson Lawrenceville Police Headquarters. The building was constructed in 2009 under Johnson’s leadership.

“As one of the longest standing chiefs of police for any department in Georgia, this tribute to his legacy is both well-deserved and appropriate,” said Mayor Judy Jordan. “We appreciate and want to remember his service to our community and a dedication of this facility in Chief Johnson’s honor is an excellent way to preserve his legacy and honor a true leader who has contributed over three decades of selfless service to the city.”
