Johns Creek’s update of its comprehensive plan, to direct future development in the North Fulton city, enters its final stages in June as the Planning Commission takes up the draft document, followed by the City Council.

The draft reflects input to date from the community and a Citizens Advisory Committee. It is on the Planning Commission agenda for 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the Municipal Court/Johns Creek Police Department headquarters, 11445 Johns Creek Parkway.

The commission will make a recommendation to the mayor and council, which are expected to discuss the plan at their June 18 meeting. Public comment will be accepted at both meetings. The city is required by law to adopt the update by November.

The plan's goals include protecting and preserving residential communities; providing superior recreational and cultural activities; expanding the city's economic base; creating a city identity; protecting the natural environment and historic resources; and creating a multi-modal transportation network.
