The Johns Creek City Council has approved a 10-year agreement with a local veterans group for the continuing care and future enhancements of the Veterans Memorial Walk at Newtown Park.
The Johns Creek Veterans Association has substantially completed a fundraising campaign for the walk and will continue fundraising and marketing to pay for enhancements, including additional plazas, artifacts or memorials dedicated to specific military campaigns, military organizations and veterans groups, the agreement says.
Construction of any enhancements, including initial landscaping and irrigation systems, will be the Veterans Association’s responsibility, subject to the approval of Johns Creek Recreation and Parks. The city will be responsible for landscaping maintenance including the irrigation system.
The marketing campaign for the sale of additional memorial pavers will be the joint responsibility of the city and Veterans Association. Information: http://bit.ly/2EFBzVL
