A Public Information Open House on the New Macland Road improvements project will be 5-7 p.m. March 21 at McEachern High School, Russell Hall, 2400 New MacLand Road, Powder Springs. Residents are invited to learn more about the Cobb County project, ask questions and provide comments. There will be no formal presentation.
The nearly $2.2 million project includes roadway safety and traffic operational improvements on New Macland Road, beginning at Arapaho Drive and ending at Macland Road. Enhancements will include turn lanes, sidewalks and drainage improvements. Traffic signals also may be upgraded.
Right-of-way acquisitions are expected to begin June 30. Construction should begin by Feb. 7 and be completed by April 5, 2021.
