The inspector reported finding “heavy food debris, mold, grease, dead roaches and dust on several (pieces of) equipment throughout the kitchen,” including unused equipment, the bar, walls, floors, shelves, the can opener blade and inside the walk-in cooler and dry storage area.

There was also a cutting board with scratches so deep that the surface could not be cleaned well enough to keep it sanitary, the report said. And cloths for wiping tables were not being properly sanitized.

Keshar Sharma, a manager at Haveli, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Thursday that many of the issues had been fixed.

He described them as “nothing major” and added that the restaurant has been open for decades.

Records show that the eatery scored an 81 in December 2016 and a 71 in November 2016. Any score below a 70 is considered failing.
