Winter revelers will have a new place to ice skate in Atlanta this year.
A 3,500-square-foot rink will open at The Roof at Ponce City Market on Nov. 20, according to a Tuesday news release.
"Skate the Sky" will be an extension of Slater Hospitality concepts Skyline Park and beer garden Nine Mile Station. The covered space will have holiday lights and decorations, and hot toddies will be available from the amusement park.
Installation, which began recently, requires cranes to lay the 10th-floor rink.

The rink will be open through Feb. 14. Skate rental and 50 minutes of skating costs $15 per person, plus the admission to The Roof — $10 for adults and $7 for kids 12 and under — or Nine Mile Station reservations, available via Tock here.
Hours are Sunday from noon to 9 p.m., Monday through Wednesday from 3 to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 3 to 11 p.m. The rink becomes 21 and up only after 5 p.m.
The rooftop rink, located at 675 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE, will be available to rent for corporate events or holiday parties during the day.
