A man was seriously injured in a crash on I-75 South in Cobb County on Wednesday afternoon.

A tractor-trailer driver, who at one point Wednesday was believed to be dead by police after a crash, was later resuscitated and is now listed in critical condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta police said.

Police believe 68-year-old Szivos Laszlo had a medical emergency that led him to crash, Marietta police spokesman Officer Jared Rakestraw said Thursday.

Laszlo was the only person seriously injured in the crash, Rakestraw said.

The crash happened about 11:30 a.m. on I-75 South near Ga. 5,  police said. Lanes were closed and delays continued until about 4 p.m.

Laszlo lost control and veered into a construction area on the west side of the interstate, police said. He then struck an unoccupied construction vehicle and continued southbound against the right wall before stopping.

Two construction workers were injured in the incident, but those injuries were not life-threatening.

Laszlo remained at Kennestone on Thursday, Rakestraw said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Samimi at 770-794-5384.
