Gwinnett’s 2040 Unified Plan and future development map will be available for public viewing, review and feedback at a series of community open house sessions. All meetings are 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 – George Pierce Park, 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee

Aug. 16 – OneStop Centerville, 3025 Bethany Church Road in Snellville

Aug. 20 – Five Forks Library, 2780 Five Forks Trickum Road in Lawrenceville

Aug. 23 – Best Friend Park, 6224 Jimmy Carter Blvd. in Norcross

Aug. 30 – Dacula Park Activity Building, 2735 Old Auburn Ave. in Dacula

The plan will present draft goals or themes relating to economic development, redevelopment, transportation, housing and other issues, along with policies to help achieve those goals.

In addition to updating the 2030 Unified Plan, it ties together a number of recently adopted blueprints for the future, such as the Comprehensive Transportation Plan, the Transit Development Plan and the Countywide Trails Master Plan.

At the upcoming meetings, visitors can write down their reaction and suggestions. Feedback will be considered as they finalize the plan for approval by the Board of Commissioners in October for submittal to the Atlanta Regional Commission.
