Running late to work? If you’re on a Gwinnett County Transit bus, you can now use free Wi-Fi to send that important email.

The entire fleet of buses has been outfitted with equipment enabling Wi-Fi while the vehicles are on the road. Login information will be available on bus decals and on Gwinnett County Transit's website.

“We are excited to add this feature to our transit vehicles,” said Karen Winger, director of the Gwinnett County Transit Division, in a release. “The Wi-Fi connection will allow our customers to stay connected while they enjoy their stress-free transit ride.”

The launch of free Wi-Fi on Gwinnett County Transit buses comes less than three months after MARTA added free Wi-Fi to its buses and trains.

Gwinnett County released its long-term plans for transit expansion in early April. That plan includes a heavy rail connection to the Doraville MARTA station and bus rapid transit.

Gwinnett County Transit operates five express routes using the managed lane on I-85, six local routes and paratransit service.
