41 goats will eat vegetation at Norcross’ Pinnacle Park for five weeks.

Who needs a weed whacker when you have a herd of hungry goats? Not the city of Norcross.

The city has contracted 41 goats to eat vegetation in Pinnacle Park. They are part of the city's "continued efforts in sustainability," a Facebook post says.

The goats are protected by a wire fence and two white herding dogs, described by a city spokeswoman as their “designated protectors.” They will be munching away at weeds and other unwanted plants for five weeks.

The goats come from Get Your Goats, an Atlanta company that rents goats to homeowners and governments to trim lawns and manage weeds and overgrown vegetation. Their goats have also helped keep land tidy in Roswell's Old Mill Park, the Atlanta Beltline and PATH400.
