It’s the season of giving and one charity is hoping it can put smiles on the faces of many North Fulton children.

The North Fulton Community Charities is collecting new and unwrapped toys to serve more than 1,100 children this holiday season.

More than 600 families will get the opportunity to select the gifts at the organization’s annual Santa Shop.

“It is a personal and joyful experience for parents to pick out their children’s gifts. It gives them control and dignity during a stressful time in their lives,” NFCC Director of Programs Eden Purdy said in a news release about the toy drive.

Founded in 1983, the NFCC is an organization working to prevent homelessness and hunger among North Fulton residents. The organization also assists with basic needs such as food, rent and utilities and provides adult education classes.

Donations are accepted this week from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the NFCC Holiday Distribution Site at 610 Holcomb Bridge Road in suite 260. The building is located near Big Lots.

Toys are needed for ages 1 to 18 and should be new and unwrapped. Gift cards in increments of $25 are needed for pre-teenagers and teens.
