Get cheap pet vaccines at Gwinnett shelter this weekend

The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and Gwinnett County Animal Welfare are teaming up to bring local pet owners low-cost vaccines for cats and dogs.

You can bring your pet to the animal welfare department’s headquarters, 844 Winder Highway in Lawrenceville, for $10 vaccines and $25 microchips on Sunday, Jan. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the Society of Humane Friends of Georgia and Operation Second Chance, an organization connected with the sheriff’s office’s Jail Dogs and Cats program.

Dog vaccines including those for bordatella, lepto, rabies and DHPP (distemper) and cat vaccines including those for bordatella, rabies and FVRCCP (rhinotracheitis, calicivirus and panleukopenia) are $10 each. Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers when they are taken to the event. The event is cash only.
