Georgia Gwinnett College won't open until 10 a.m. Tuesday due to a threat of ice, the school tweeted Monday afternoon.

Classes beginning before 10 a.m. will not convene due to the delay, and college offices will be closed until 10 a.m.

“Patchy black ice” is expected to form on metro Atlanta roads overnight, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brad Nitz. Precipitation is expected to persist through midnight, and temperatures could dip below freezing in the hours before sunrise.
