Just in time for the summer travel season, the Georgia Department of Transportation has announced a resurfacing project will begin soon on I-75 between Calhoun and Dalton in northwest Georgia.

C.W. Matthews Contracting Co. Inc., Marietta, has been awarded a $37.6 million contract to resurface 19.2 miles of the interstate, beginning north of Redbud Road (Ga. 156) in Gordon County and extending to just north of Tibbs Road in Whitfield County.

The work is expected to be completed by the end of March 2019.

“Information on construction and lane closure schedules … will be forthcoming before work begins,” GDOT said.

A similar project is under way to resurface 11 miles of I-75 in Cobb County from the Chattahoochee River to just north of Allgood Road.
