Garrin Coleman, most recently public works director in Sandy Springs, is heading up Ga. 400 to take a new job April 9 as Forsyth County assistant county manager.
In the newly created position, Coleman will oversee Forsyth’s Engineering, Recycling & Solid Waste, Fleet Services and Public Facilities departments, officials said. He will be executive manager for all transportation-related activities and the county’s key contact with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Coleman also will be the contact for regional transportation efforts with the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, Development Authority of Forsyth County and city of Cumming.
“Transportation is without question a major focus for Forsyth County government,” said County Manager Eric Johnson.
Coleman has nearly 20 years of experience in engineering and transportation. He headed public works in Sandy Springs since 2012 under the city’s contract with AECOM and previously served in other roles in the North Fulton city and as land development manager with Lowes Engineers LLC.
