Forsyth County elections administrator Barbara Luth says some Forsyth residents appear confused about whether they’re eligible to vote in the special Sixth District congressional race.

With the reopened deadline approaching to register to vote in the Sixth District congressional race, Forsyth County elections administrator Barbara Luth is issuing a clarification.

Luth said her office has been getting some 15 to 20 calls a week from Forysth residents who have Alpharetta or Johns Creek mailing addresses and who think they’re eligible to vote in the June 20 runoff. Luth clarifies the district consists of parts of Cobb, Fulton and DeKalb counties and that no part of Forsyth is included.

Luth said perhaps a couple of thousand Forsyth residents with mailing addresses from North Fulton could be under the mistaken impression that they’ll be eligible to vote in the June 20 runoff pitting Democrat John Osoff against Republican Karen Handel. The reopened registration deadline is Sunday.
