We’ve got a beautiful day Sunday with temperatures currently 90 degrees and climbing, meteorologists say.

Temperatures are expected to hit the mid-90s, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said.

But what most people are more interested in is what the skies will do Monday.

By 1 p.m. Monday, when the partial eclipse begins, we’ll have mostly sunny but partly cloudy skies, Walls said.

“Very limited in the way of cloud cover, which considering the time of year is pretty lucky,” Walls said.

Maximum totality is expected about 2:36 p.m. Monday, depending on where exactly people are while watching.

About 4:01 p.m., at the end of the partial eclipse, clouds should be covering about 30 percent of the sky.

Rain is not expected Sunday and Monday only brings a 20 percent chance of rain.
