The police departments in Johns Creek, Roswell and Sandy Springs will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s “Drug Take Back Day” on Saturday. At four locations in north Fulton County, police will be set up to take all your unwanted drugs.

According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs in 2016, which prompted the DEA to partner with local law enforcement to round up unwanted drugs. In April, the DEA collected 949,046 pounds of unwanted drugs across the nation.

• Kroger (Sandy Springs) – 227 Sandy Springs Place NE
• Roswell Recycling Center – 11570 Maxwell Road
• Target (Johns Creek) – 5950 State Bridge Road

And here’s what you can’t bring to the Drug Take Back Day:

• Needles
• Sharp objects
• Syringes
• Thermometers
• IV bags
• Bloody or infectious waste
• Personal care products
• Inhalers
• Empty containers

However, the take-back event at the Roswell Recycling Center will be able to accept needles and other sharp objects, because they are partnering with WellStar North Fulton Hospital. Personnel from the hospital will handle those materials.
