A former DeKalb County jailer who had a sexual relationship with an inmate pleaded guilty this week, the district attorney’s office said.
Nardia Reynolds pleaded guilty to violating the oath of office. Reynolds, who’d worked for the jail about two years, was arrested in 2016.
“We have no tolerance for anyone who violates the law,” Sheriff Jeffrey Mann said at the time.

She was free on bond until pleading guilty before Superior Court Judge Asha Jackson, the DA’s office told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Jackson sentenced her to 5 years, with the first in custody, the rest on probation.
As part of the plea, she was given first-offender status, which will allow her to eventually have the conviction removed from her record, but she must surrender her law enforcement certification.
