Cops: Gwinnett burglars took $76K in cash, items in 45-min crime spree

Gwinnett County police are searching for three burglary suspects who allegedly stole $76,000 in cash in 45 minutes.

Gwinnett County police are searching for three burglary suspects who allegedly stole $76,000 in cash in 45 minutes.

Three men stole $76,000 in cash and items from three Norcross stores during a 45-minute crime spree, Gwinnett County police said.

The men started at a convenience store on Jimmy Carter Boulevard around 1:40 a.m. on June 12. They took an envelope with $6,000 cash inside and a binder with business documents. They then went to a Cricket Wireless store on the same street, taking four “dummy phones” and multiple accessories totaling more than $400 in value. There was also $1,000 in damage done to the store’s glass door, which had been smashed, according to a police report.

The final location was an Apple computer store  on Buford Highway. A door was smashed off its hinges and a laptop display case was broken open. Multiple iPhones were found scattered across the floor. An officer couldn’t immediately determine what had been taken when he responded shortly after the suspects left the scene. The suspects had finished burglarizing the three businesses  by 2:30 a.m.

The men were driving a gray, silver or light blue early 2000s model BMW four-door sedan, according to police. All three suspects are men in their late teens or early 20s with slim builds. The first suspect was wearing gray or brown boots, black pants, a black hoodie, orange underwear and white gloves. The second suspect was wearing royal blue sneakers, gray sweatpants, a black hooded sweatshirt, green or tan boxers and white gloves. The third suspect was wearing black and white sneakers, black pants, a black hoodie, royal blue underwear and white gloves.
