Cops: N. Fulton home invaded after Mark Wahlberg movie was shot there

A few days after it was used as a set for a movie featuring Mark Wahlberg, a home in Sandy Springs was broken into by five men.

The incident happened on Dec. 9 around 8:50 p.m. on the 7500 block of Spalding Lane, and more than a month later the suspects are still at large.

Hunter Jacques, who lives at the home and was there when the thieves broke in, spoke to Channel 2 Action News about what he saw that night.

“I noticed shadowy figures coming up the stairs. So, as I’m going to investigate more on it, I noticed a figure popped out behind it with a pretty big-sized gun in his hand,” Jacques told Channel 2. “I was freaked out. I guess I startled them. They had figured out someone was in my room.”

Surveillance footage from a neighbor’s camera that Channel 2 obtained shows the five suspects entering the home from the garage. Minutes later, all five suspects are seen exiting the home and sprinting back to their cars.

The AJC has requested more information about the incident and the suspects from Sandy Springs police.

Jacques told Channel 2 that scenes for the movie “Mile 22” were filmed at the home just days before the home invasion. According to IMDB, the film stars Wahlberg, Lauren Cohan, John Malkovich, MMA star Ronda Rousey, and is directed by Peter Berg.

“(The production company) had all their equipment stored here. Copper wire and things like that,” Jacques told Channel 2. “I’ve been sitting here with my Bowie knife. I don’t know if they’re coming back.”

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspects should call Sandy Springs police at 770-551-6900.
