Gwinnett County police are investigating two fatal drug overdoses that occurred within an hour of each other in the same Lawrenceville neighborhood.

At 6:09 a.m. Friday, officers responded to a home on Turtle Creek Way. A  911 caller had reported an unresponsive young man. They found the man, who was later pronounced dead, in the home.

At 6:53 a.m., a second 911 call came in, this one from Turtle Creek Court. Another young man was found unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead.

Police are not releasing the identities of the men who died, but they believe both of them died of drug overdoses. It is not yet known whether the overdoses were accidental.

Police found similar drug packaging in both homes: white sheets of paper folded into envelopes. The substance they ingested is still under investigation.

It is important to identify the drug and who sold it in order to prevent future deaths, Gwinnett County police said.

Anyone with information on this drug, or the identity of its seller is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
