Cops: Cobb motorcyclist dies after sports car enters oncoming traffic

A 51-year-old Smyrna motorcyclist died in a crash last week, Cobb County police announced Monday.

Michael Dorsey was pronounced dead Wednesday about 1:15 p.m. at the scene, which police said was on Church Road east of Harris Road in south Cobb.

Dorsey was riding a red 2008 SYM motorcycle east on Church when a white 1994 Chevrolet Corvette heading west “crossed into oncoming traffic” and hit Dorsey, police said.

The 59-year-old driver of the Corvette suffered minor injuries.

Police spokeswoman Officer Sarah O’Hara said Monday that she knew of no charges that had been filed.
