Marietta Veterans 5K, Appreciation

Duluth Memorial Day Service

Duluth Memorial Day Service. 6 p.m. Saturday. Duluth Town Green, 3167 Main St., Duluth. Highlights will be the presentation of colors by the Duluth ROTC, the pledge led by Cub Scout Pack 420, song performances by Lucy-Blair Owen and a speech by Brigadier General Reginald G. A. Neal. Smyrna Memorial Day Ceremony. 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Twentieth Century Veterans Memorial, 2800 King St., Smyrna. Gunnery Sergeant Victoria Turney, USMC (Retired) will be the first speaker. U.S. Army Lieutenant General Steve Arnold (Retired), who was given command of the Third Army and the U.S. Army Central Command from the mid-1990s until he retired in 1997, will be the keynote speaker. Dacula Memorial Day Parade: “We Pause to Honor Our Fallen.” 10 a.m. Monday. Parade review and announcer stand will be in front of Fire Station 16, 195 Dacula Road, Dacula. Milton Memorial Day Ceremony

Milton Memorial Day Ceremony. 10-11 a.m. Monday. Freedom Park, 13200 Deerfield Parkway, Milton. The ceremony will include the presentation of the colors by the Milton Public Safety Color Guard, a combined honor guard from the Milton Police and Fire Departments and Milton bagpiper Bob Kaus. Jordan Thorne, winner of the recent Milton’s Got Talent competition, will sing the National Anthem and “God Bless America.” Keynote speakers will be Nicholas “Nick” Snider, founder of the National Foundation of Patriotism, and the foundation’s Executive Director Patricia Stansbury.
