Royal China Restaurant in Chamblee barely passed its follow-up inspection, scoring a 71, according to the DeKalb County health department.
Any score below a 70 is considered failing.
The restaurant still had cleanliness issues with violations including ceiling leaks in the kitchen and sightings of roaches and flies.

A Chinese restaurant in Chamblee failed a recent health inspection, according to DeKalb County health department records.
Royal China Restaurant, at 3293 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, scored a 23 on its Wednesday health inspection. Any score below a 70 is considered failing.

Violations included roaches and flies in the back area of the kitchen, lack of paper towels and hand washing sinks, and an employee wiping a bowl with his bare hands before putting soup in it to serve to a customer.
Manager of the restaurant, Sam Kong, explained that the violations were all minor.
“The inspection report is not a really bad situation,” Kong said. “The score is so low because a lot of stuff is repeat violation.”
The restaurant failed a health inspection with a 46 in October. Five days later they passed a follow-up inspection with an 88.
Follow-up inspections are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
