Local and national breweries will be featured at the April event benefitting Children's Charities.

A beer festival is coming to north Fulton County.

On April 14, Milton’s City Hall Plaza will play host to the 2018 Big South Beer Festival.

Preceding the festival will be a craft beer competition at Olde Blind Dog Irish Pub, where beers will be judged in 15 categories on April 7. At the beer fest a week later, awards will be handed out.

Tickets for the festival can be purchased online and range from $25 to $75.

The festival will feature craft local and national craft beers, food, live music, a VIP tent and other vendors. Each ticket comes with a customized beer tasting glass. The festival runs from 4 to 8 p.m.

Beers available at the event will come from Currahee Brewing, Red Hare Brewing, Catawba Brewing Company, Arches Brewing and several others. See the full list here.

The event will benefit Children’s Charities, a Milton-based nonprofit that supports and funds the needs of children in the area. Its goal is to raise $500,000 to fully fund and build an all-inclusive play park in Milton for children with all abilities and disabilities.
