Atlanta police receive reports of flooding in the city

Although the heavy rain across metro Atlanta is beginning to taper off on the Southside and Westside, flooding is still being reported in the city.

The Atlanta Police Department received reports Monday morning of flooding at 335 Fairburn Road Northwest and at the intersection of Ralph David Abernathy and Joseph E. Lowery boulevards.

From midnight to 7 a.m., Atlanta received 1.41 inches of rain, Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said in a tweet.

Outside the city, Forsyth and Fulton counties are under a flood warning until 7 p.m. Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Additionally, Forsyth and Hall counties are under a flood watch until further notice, the weather service reported.
