Atlanta police looking for alleged hit-and-run driver of a Honda Pilot

Atlanta police are looking for the driver who struck a pedestrian and fled the scene in Atlanta Monday.

The victim, Wayne Bauman, was taken to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment and was in critical condition after being hit, police said. The accident happened at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Wellington Street.

Witnesses told police the driver of a 2003-2005 silver Honda Pilot lost control and drove on to the sidewalk, striking the victim.

The vehicle will have heavy front-end damage on the passenger side.

Police ask that anyone who comes in contact with the person calls 404-765-2808 #123 or email ahatfield@atlantaga.gov.

They may also call Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. All callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a cash reward up to $2,000 if their tip leads to an arrest and indictment.
