A man who allegedly choked his girlfriend with a cord was recently added to the Atlanta Police Department's "Most Wanted" list.

Cornelius Arnold, 28, and the victim had known each other for three weeks when he climbed through her window and began arguing with her on Sept. 18, according to a police report. He’d become “increasingly jealous and violent” during their relationship and was angry because the victim’s cousin was at the home with another man, the woman told police.

Arnold allegedly hit his girlfriend’s head and arms with a broom before wrapping a cord around her neck so tight she had trouble breathing. He jumped out of the window after someone in the house yelled for him to stop, according to the report.

An officer who came to the home reported that the victim “sustained swelling to her forehead” due to the altercation.

“While on scene (Arnold) called her phone and was cursing her out, however he hung up once I attempted to speak to him,” the officer wrote in the report.
