North Gwinnett tag office manager Elaine Melvin-Morgan, left, and Gwinnett Tax Commissioner Richard Steele pose with a new self-service kiosk.

Gwinnettians can now renew their vehicle tags — and get their new decals immediately — at a pair of self-service kiosks.

Gwinnett Tax Commissioner Richard Steele announced recently the addition of the two kiosks at the county’s tag offices in Buford (2735 Mall of Georgia Blvd.) and Lawrenceville (750 South Perry St.). The Buford kiosk is open 24/7.

The Lawrenceville kiosk is open between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

“I am constantly looking for ways to make tag renewal more convenient for Gwinnett taxpayers,” Steele said in a news release. “The after-hours kiosks will offer a new option in addition to paying online, mailing in payment or visiting a tag office.”

Steele said additional kiosks could be added in the future.

Credit and debit cards are accepted, but users must have a valid Georgia driver’s license and addresses on tag renewal notices must be correct.
