Fulton County will get nearly $15 million from the Atlanta Regional Commission to pay for transportation projects.
The money, which will be used for projects over the next several years, is part of a $400 million list of transportation improvements in metro Atlanta.
In Fulton, the money will go to several projects.

In Johns Creek, dual left turn lanes will be added to Barnwell Road at the intersection with Holcomb Bridge Road. Barnwell Road will also have a through lane and a right-hand turn lane. A roundabout will be built at Niblick Drive. The moves are intended to improve traffic flow in the area.
In Sandy Springs, bus stop pads, sidewalks and intersections will be improved along Roswell Road to make the area safer for pedestrian travel. A portion of the proposed Perimeter CID 20-mile multi-use trail will also be constructed. The trail, from Hammond Drive to Crestline Parkway, will have a protected cycle track, sidewalks, crosswalks and pedestrian islands.
Fulton County and East Point will jointly study potential safety and efficiency improvements at the intersection of Camp Creek Parkway and Welcome All Road.
College Park will study improvements to the College Park MARTA station that would improve bicycle and pedestrian access.
The Atlanta Regional Commission said the project list was developed with local governments to meet the greatest needs in the county. All projects should be underway —if not completed — by 2023. There are more than 100 projects across metro Atlanta.
Other projects include engineering for the Atlanta BeltLine and an extension of PATH400, expansion of Gwinnett County transit and the creation of a bus service in Douglas County, design work on major highway improvements like express lanes on I-285 and interchange improvements at I-285 and I-20, and other road projects.
