Fulton County commission meeting canceled due to lack of commissioners

Fulton County commissioners canceled their regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, after they failed to have a quorum more than 30 minutes after the meeting was scheduled to begin.

Commission Chairman Robb Pitts called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m., but only two other commissioners — Lee Morris and Marvin Arrington — were present. At 10:33 a.m., Pitts again asked for a roll call, but no more commissioners had arrived.

County rules require a meeting to be canceled if there is no quorum 30 minutes after the first roll call is taken. The seven-member commission needs four members for a quorum.

Commissioners were scheduled to discuss restrictions on pet stores selling cats and dogs, raises for members of the county election board, the 2019 budget  and other matters.

The meeting will have to be rescheduled.
