Here in Atlanta, we love our cars. We have to, seeing as how we spend so much time in them. (Nobody's saying that we love traffic, just cars.) Given that cars as we know them have only been part of American life for a little over a century, our beloved horseless carriages have become more to us than a means of transportation. Even when the automobile was a newfangled invention, Georgians were snapping them up and showing them off. In this 1909 photo, the Aycock family of Moultrie, Ga., proudly display their White Steamer while visiting Atlanta.
