Doraville is among the sites in Metro Atlanta under consideration by Amazon.

The site of an old General Motors assembly plant in Doraville is among the places the state pitched to Amazon as part of its HQ2 application.

The land is the planned site of a  mixed-use development known simply as Assembly, and it checks off a lot Amazon's criteria, Doraville Mayor Donna Pittman said.

“Considering Assembly’s location with MARTA, the interstate and (DeKalb-Peachtree Airport), we feel like it’s a great location and would be very excited if they chose us,” she said.

The GM plant on the 165-acre site was demolished in 2015. Most recently, Serta Simmons Bedding announced plans to build its headquarters on 5 acres of the property. That still leave plenty of land available for Amazon.
