DeKalb County commissioners want more time to decide whether to ban the practice of booting vehicles or allow booting but with new regulations.

There is a proposed ordinance on the table to allow booting in unincorporated DeKalb, charging drivers no more than $75 to have the devices  removed. But commissioners told the county attorney last week they are considering eliminating booting like Cobb, Gwinnett and Clayton counties have done.

The DeKalb Board of Commissioners voted today (Aug. 14) to postpone making a final decision for a month while they consider the options.
