Rep. Tom Taylor has filed legislation to create the city of Vista Grove in a footprint similar to a previous cityhood effort that failed.
Vista Grove would be comprised of neighborhoods that are south of Brookhaven, Chamblee and Doraville and north of Tucker. The proposal leave out some neighborhoods that voted against creating the city of LaVista Hills in 2016.
Taylor, R-Dunwoody, filed House Bill 1001 on Thursday. It is considered a preliminary step for Vista Grove proponents since most cityhood proposals are a two-year process.
Vista Grove organizers say they are laying the groundwork for a referendum in 2019.
