Which metro high schools produced this year’s Presidential Scholars?

Three Georgia students today were named U.S. Presidential Scholars, a national honor that recognizes students for academic, artistic and civic achievements.

Myriam B. Shehata from Marist School in Atlanta, Yash P. Shirsath from Grayson High in Loganville and Austin K. Wang from Walton High in Marietta were among 141 students selected for the honor.

More than 4,300 students qualified for the 2015 awards, which are determined by outstanding performance on the SAT and ACT exams, and through nominations. The group will be presented with a Presidential Scholar Medallion at a ceremony June 21 in Washington.
