Fulton County public school teachers may soon see more money in their paychecks.
School district board members Tuesday evening tentatively approved a $1 billion general fund budget for the upcoming school year. The entire budget, which includes money for construction projects in its capital budget, is about $1.7 billion. Fulton’s plan increases spending by 3.6 percent, officials said.

The budget includes an average salary increase of about two percent for the district’s teachers and staff, Fulton County school district officials said.
A public hearing on the budget is scheduled for June 21 at 6 p.m. at Asa G. Hilliard Elementary School, 3353 Mt Olive Rd. in East Point.
Final approval of the budget is scheduled for June 28.
