A national for-profit college with campuses in Georgia abruptly announced Wednesday it’s shutting down operations.
Virginia College said on its website, without any additional information, that it “is no longer accepting student enrollments.” The college lists campuses in Augusta and Savannah on its website. Those campuses have nearly 1,000 students combined, according to U.S. Department of Education data.
Education Corporation of America, which owns Virginia College, said on its website that “operations would be discontinued” in December and additional information will be available around Dec. 17.
The college offered courses in subjects such as business administration, cosmetology, therapeutic massage, culinary arts and medical billing.
