A non-profit organization that works to ensure colleges and universities provide free speech rights for students and faculty announced Tuesday it has given Emory University its best rating.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education said Emory is the first Georgia institution to receive a “green light” rating after working with the organization to revise its undergraduate conduct code and making other changes officials realize didn’t adhere to the university’s open expression policy.

The University of North Georgia announced it was reviewing its policies after FIRE criticized its student code of conduct.
